Q: What does ScrapperStats.com do?
A: We maintain a listing of scrapbookers online that tracks (ranks popularity) of it's member's forum posts, galleries, blogs, personal web pages and other internet publishings, much like those seen on scrapbooking websites to see the popularity of a particular site. The difference being that ScrapperStats is designed for individuals rather than businesses, and our code is provided to you in both HTML and BBC. The more often your special link is exposed the higher your ranking. Each member has their own, unique code.
Q: What is the purpose?
A: The basic idea behind internet ranking sites like this is to help each other. Each time your link is shown to someone (a live person or a search engine) our site gets exposure - great advertising! And, each time someone (again, a live person or a search engine) visits our site you get exposure - again, great advertising!
This site is a great place to come to share ideas with other scrapbookers, just as our Scrapbook Stats - Top 100 for Scrapbook Sites is a great place to check out other scrapbook sites. Additionally, ScrapperStats is a great way to actually see the amount of views and traffic your internet postings that your hard work has earned!
Q: Is there a fee to participate?
A: No, it is free for members and always will be. TopList sites are supported by the banners between listings and/or small advertisements that you see throughout the site. The advertisements are minimal and non-obtrusive but serve not only as a source for supporting our great site, they also provide our members with links to scrapbook sites that they might not have otherwise ever known about.
Q: Can I use my link anywhere on any site?
A: Not really. Your link code should be used on sites that you actively participate in, and somehow are related (in someway) to scrapbooking, card crafting, rubber stamping, altered art or some form of paper crafting. The site(s) you select to use your graphic on do not necessarily need to specifically related to scrapbooking or other paper crafting, but your contributions to the site should be. Link codes are strictly prohibited on adult sites, including but not limited to pornography and gambling sites.
Q: Do I have to be USA based?
A: No- Although the context of your posts where you use your link must be in English or have an English translation option on the same page.
Q: Do I have to have a banner to join?
A: No, although a banner or avatar that you use among many forums, blogs and various sites will help other users recognize you more quickly within the listing.
Q: Sometimes the ranking number on my tracking link is different than the actual number on the Scrapper Stats page, why?
A: This is because the rank position on your tracking link is in real time (your actual rank position up to that minute), whereas on the site your position is updated once daily. This is done so the server is not overwhelmed.
Q: By joining this list will I be added to any mailing lists or will my email address and information be given out?
A: No- It is possible that from time to time we might have to send out an email to list members, although this list does not have any type of maintained mailing list, nor will we share member's information with any third party for any reason.
Q: What are hits in and out?
A: Okay, the stats can become confusing...
Hits In: The number of hits that that come in from a members link.
Hits Out: The number of hits from ScrapperStats to a member's site(s).
Q: How are general stats calculated?
A: General stats are calculated by Daily Pageviews (on your sites) combined with Total Pageviews (on your sites). This is subject to change without notice to deter cheating.
Q: How is the winner calculated?
A: The Top Winners are calculated by Unique Pageviews (on your sites) combined with Unique Hits In (to ScrapperStats.com - this is when someone clicks on your graphic link).
Q: How are my stats activated?
A: Your account will begin recording statistics as soon as you insert your tracking link/graphic. This is also how we know that you are actively participating in ScrapperStats. If you register and do not activate your code on a website (you have zero statistics) your account will be moved to a status of "inactive" where it is removed from the index of ScrapperStats after five days. If this happens it is necessary to contact the Site Administrator once you have inserted your graphic so your account can be restored. This is necessary to keep an accurate listing of active scrapbookers in the ScrapperStats.
Q: How do I make extra links (clickable text) in my profile?
A: Adding extra links is easy, and creating links using the HREF command makes the page much easier to read. Search engine spiders will still see your posted link, just as visitors too.
Simply copy the example below, but do not leave spaces between your typing in any place other than the one segment that is marked in BOLD - "NAME OF LINK HERE".

*REMEMBER - Do not leave any spaces anywhere other than in the space where you want the name of your link to go. We had to leave spaces in this example otherwise the page accepts the HTML code and our example would have been converted into a link.
